Windows 7 hangs when saving files or folders.

A couple days ago my Windows 7 started to hang almost every time I was saving, renaming and creating files or folders, it also didn't show the new files or folders when I was making them so I had to press F5 to update the screen so I could see them.

So I started to blame "Windows Update" and Silverlight but after uninstalling Silverlight I still was having the same problem, it was specially annoying because every time I saved a file from Firefox, Firefox hanged too and it was unresponsive for about 10 seconds, so after visiting a forum, I found some clues that the problem had something to do with "Network and Sharing Center" but nobody on the forum had any definitive solution because the problem seemed to be random. I remember having this problem in older versions of Windows and I wasn't expecting to have it again in 2010.

To make the story short, what I did was to delete all my network shares from "Computer" and it wasn't necessary to clear them from the recycle bin, everything came back to normal, so there you have, if you are having this issue you can try to delete your network shares and if it's not resolved then just undelete them.

I usually don't bother to give comments, but this time I want to give my thanks. Though many hits on the problem, it wasn't until this suggestion I had it solved. I even had computer specialist to look at it to no avail.
Thanks!
